Sewage water supply system

Anode and cathode is an electrochemical process in water and wastewater treatment to remove traces of organic contaminants or harmful compounds and make them clean.

  • How does it work?

Water is a covalent molecule held together by shared electrons in covalent chemical bonds. The water molecules in hydrogen and oxygen combine together for separation, also known as electrolysis. During electrolysis, molecules are reduced to hydrogen at the cathode and oxidized to oxygen at the anode. Hydrogen is attracted to the cathode, which is negative because it is an anion. Oxygen is attracted to the anode, so it is positive. In other words, oxygen is formed at the anode (positive electrode) and hydrogen is formed at the cathode (negative electrode).
